The Public Information Database is now available (as of 19 September) on the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) website. The database is designed to inform the public about the Control of Major Accident Hazards organisations.
Under the Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations, all operators of such sites must complete and submit an online template containing the information the Competent Authority feels the public needs to know in order to feel assured the operator takes their safety and that of the surrounding environment into account. Additional information is required for Upper Tier establishments.
Operators will be contacted directly and told how to access the system and create their entry. They need to provide the information required as soon as possible.
The HSE website has updated guidance available, and information can also be found in Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations 2015 (L111, Third edition).
If you would like to speak to one of our lawyers regarding the database or the Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations, please call our office on 0207 993 6960.
