Emergency Response Solicitors

Leaders in Health and Safety

FSW are leaders in Health & Safety and  Emergency Response for the construction, engineering and manufacturing industry.

The action taken in the immediate aftermath of a fatal or major construction accident, fatal industrial accident and all other major industrial incidents can be crucial to the outcome of the case.

Failure to follow a basic process can lead to confusion and panic and delays in getting control of a serious situation. We offer a comprehensive expert emergency response service across all areas of construction, engineering, and industrial health and safety related accidents and incidents.

Following an Incident

Our Emergency Response Solicitors will brief key staff, liaise with investigating authorities (the Police and/or Health and Safety Executive HSE) and put in place a communication network and sound response strategy.

Take control

Let us guide you and provide the support and expertise required in dealing with these difficult and stressful events, please contact us by telephone on 0207 993 6960 or email Charlotte Waters.

Incident Management

It is of paramount importance to manage the incident/ adverse event correctly. Correct management will ensure that further risks are minimised, all necessary records and documentation of the event are documented and recorded. We can also advise on setting up communications with all involved parties and the optimum dissemination of relevant information.

Police and HSE Powers

It is important to understand the powers of  the Police or a Health and Safety Executive ("HSE")  While their powers are overlapping they are not the same. The powers of the police are set out in the  the Police under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act. ("PACE") and the powers of an Inspector of Health and Safety in section 20 of the Health and Safety at Work ect Act 1974.  One important difference is that an Inspector of Health and Safety, unlike a police officer, does not have the power of arrest.  As a consequence, a suspect cannot be compelled to attend an HSE interview under caution.
