Lion Steel Equipment Ltd became the third company to be convicted of corporate manslaughter under the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 following the death of employee on 29 May 2009. The employee went onto the factory roof to repair a leak when he fell through a fragile roof panel and died as a result of his injuries. The case was heard at Manchester (Crown Square) Crown Court on 20/07/2012. The company were fined £480,000.00 (£240,000 Corporate Manslaughter & £240,000 Health and Safety s.2 ) plus costs of £6,201.75 The company had a turnover of over £9 million in 2010
